The Atlantic Forest, located in South the States, stretches along Brazils Atlantic Ocean coast all the way from the Rio Grande northeast to the Rio Grande South.
This region is isolated from other rainforests found in South America and has been reduced to only 10% of its original coat due to defragmentation and degradation of the plants and animals that live here. Due to urbanization, deforestation and creation increase from Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the world has made this diversity hotspot the pattern one priority for conservation.

The Endangered Peroba Tree
Native only to South America and the Atlantic Forest, the Paratecoma Peroba tree has long been exploited for its strength and forcefulness in the use of building materials has now become close to extinct.

Spanish cedar: the pink timberland
Spanish Cedar or genus Cedrela as it is commonly called, is a pinkish colored wood that is aromatic and resistant to insects and decay which has made this wood super sought after for building purposes.
This desire to build with wood that is resistant to termites and decay has made it virtually extinct. Pollution of piddle sources and illegally overharvesting has caused much of the habitat loss for these trees.
