He was the ultimate outdoorsmen. One of my most vivid memories I founder with my dad is him teaching me how to shoot one of his many guns. I remember him showing and explaining every part, making me learn it by heart and having the safety of guns down pat earlier I was allowed to even touch it. I recall him helping me bond the gun as I began to shoot, so I wouldnt feel as much of the kick. I can remember how thrilled he was when I hit the target.
Before he died, he made a secret door in my room to put a gun in caseful I would ever need it. Now, as I plainspoken that secret door, I see his favorite, the Browning B80 Light lean 12 Gage Shotgun and of course, he and those memories come flood back to me. Next to it, I see a miniscule BB Gun that was purchased for my daughter just a year before he passed and I know she gets the same memories of her lessons when we get it out. other thing my dad loved Bob Dylan. I literally cannot think of a childhood memory where Bob Dylan wasnt playing in the background. Growing up around his music, I have also fallen in love.
