Introduction

Through out history different regime powers and rulers have a bun in the oven granted their citizens m all rights. However, these citizens have been male, many world land owning males. Other citizens, women, non-land owners, slaves, and former slaves had been restricted of many of the rights abandoned to a few.

Important conventions, such as Seneca Falls, brought about ordinary awareness to womens right to choose. The enlightenment period lead to the crusaders of the nineteenth Century, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony, who fought for the right to vote. Many women take for granted the right to vote and the struggles that had been over bed to allow women, like me, to vote this last November. How did we come to the point that women were given the right to vote? It began in the reason period, to those who fought for women’s rights and to the suffrage movement. These will be explored in the adjacent paper.

Enlightenment

The Enlightenment period had a great influence non only throughout Europe, but it also influenced America. Many countries took the ideas of neaten to aid or restructure their governments.



While the United States seems to be a model of the Enlightenment period by structuring a government with no religious power or any absolute power held by one person campaign the government.
The role of women in history is important because of the struggles that women have endured. These struggles have lead to the suffrage movement and then later the women’s rights movement. Society in the late nineteenth century was base towards change in the roles that women had held. The struggle to conform to societal roles, and inequality in and out of the home lead to the women’s movement. Women were changing, befitting better educated and voicing their opinions in a hostelry that had long disregarded them.
